The user should carefully read this privacy policy, which has been drafted in a clear and simple manner to facilitate its understanding, and freely and voluntarily determine whether he/she wishes to provide Newtral with his/her personal data.
Likewise, the user guarantees that he/she is of legal age and that the data provided are true, exact, complete and updated, being responsible for any damage or prejudice, direct or indirect, that could be caused as a consequence of the non-fulfilment of such obligation. Generate anonymised statistics, which are composed of aggregated data under the following categories: number of participants, number of matches, average age of participants, gender distribution, location of participants, and distribution of «yes-no» questions asked.
From the participation of the users «sensitive» data could be derived from the answers to the form, such as your political opinion, so we explicitly inform you both in the form and in the verification email of this end, as well as that you consent to such treatment at the time you check the consent box in the registration to the project.
Manage the publication of the image of users through our website and social networks, in the event that you provide us with your consent.

In the event of a match, your personal data concerning your name and the answers given to the questionnaire, indicating where they do not agree, will also be passed on to the citizen with whom the conversation will take place.
Newtral and the recipients of the personal data undertake that the processing of said personal data will be carried out solely and exclusively for the purposes of the project and the aforementioned purposes. - DATA PROCESSORS
The hosting, sending of SMS, development and maintenance of the profiling, the matching software, and the compilation of statistics services are carried out by Good Conversations gGmbH. These services will be carried out in accordance with the precise instructions set out in the contract signed, in strict compliance with the legal regulations on the protection of personal data, information security and other applicable regulations. - INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
For the provision of the SMS sending services, the services of Twilio Ireland Limited, which belongs to the company Twilio Inc. have been contracted, with potential international transfers of your data to the United States. However, Twilio has signed up to binding corporate rules approved in the European Union and has signed standard contractual clauses. Therefore, the user will be assured that such transfers will always be subject to adequate or appropriate safeguards for the processing of his/her personal data.
Likewise, in the event of a match with a person outside the European Economic Area, the user’s data will not be communicated either to the collaborating entity or to the person in question unless we have the user’s explicit consent to proceed with such an international transfer. In any case, these partner organisations have signed standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission. - STORAGE PERIODS
In relation to the management processing of the user’s participation in the «Europe Talks» project, Newtral will store all personal data supplied and/or inferred from the users, with the exception of the image, for 9 months, and provided that the user has not withdrawn his/her consent to the processing of his/her data before the end of this period. Subsequently, your data will be deleted, without prejudice to the anonymous statistics that have been compiled, and in which the user cannot be re-identified in any way.
With regard to the processing of your image so that it can be published on our website and social networks, your data will be kept for as long as necessary for the purpose described, or until the user withdraws his/her consent. - USER RIGHTS
Users may, at any time and free of charge, exercise their rights of access, rectification or deletion, opposition, limitation and portability of their data, as well as the right not to be subject to automated individual decisions, by sending an e-mail to: [email protected].

The data marked with an exclamation mark (!) in the forms provided by Newtral through its online platforms are necessary to fulfil the main purpose of the «Europe Talks» project. Specifically:
The answers that the users provide to the questions are necessary in order to be able to compile their profile and proceed with the matching.
The users’ identification data is necessary to be able to identify them in the system and to be able to introduce them to third parties in case of a match.
The users’ contact details are required for a two-factor e-mail/SMS authentication.
The users’ age is required to verify that they are not under 18 years of age.
The users’ gender is required for anonymous statistics.
The users’ postcode is necessary to facilitate matching with a person close to their location.
Therefore, if the users do not provide them, Newtral will not be able to process their request to participate in the project. - SPECIAL CATEGORIES OF DATA
Newtral and the Europe Talks project’s partner organisations identified above are required to process the users’ personal data and answers, in respect of which information on political ideology may be derived, which could be considered sensitive data, and which the users make manifestly public on the occasion of this project, all for the purpose of comparing the users’ answers with those of other participants in order to find a person with whom to hold a political conversation, under the terms described in the privacy policy. - PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION MEASURES
Newtral has implemented appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect users’ personal data, including, among other measures, the following: physical access controls to the personal information processed; the implementation of video-surveillance mechanisms for the facilities as well as alarm mechanisms; entry and exit controls for the facilities; the encryption of the computer systems used to process personal information; the use of encrypted protocols for remote access to information systems; the use of access verification systems; or the use of plans for restoring information in the event of accidental destruction or loss. - USE OF COOKIES
